BELIZE

Belize is the only official English speaking country in Central America. It is a nation that has its own unique set of social issues that its leaders are working to address. Originally colonized by the British and known as British Honduras until the early 70's, Belize gained its official independence in 1981. Since then, the nation has developed into a country where approximately 1 out of every 3 citizens is a youth or young adult. This emerging generation is crying out for God in every way possible.

Global Youth Missions currently partners with missionaries across the country of Belize to help impact the Belizean people with the truth of Jesus Christ. Teams work closely with local missionaries & pastors and also are able to plug in and serve at YC Belize.

We currently have two GYM teams planning outreaches to Belize.  Please pray for a group of Edmonton area students who will be serving at YC Belize at the end of March.  There is also an outreach being planned for Summer 2012 and spots are still available.  See below for details.

BRAZIL

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, both geographically and by population and is the only Portuguese-speaking nation in the Americas.  Economically, Brazil is considered to be a leader in the developing nations and provides significant aid for other developing countries. 

A team outreach of young adults is being planned for June 2012 and spots are still available!  See below for details.
